The American youth inspired Tisza Folkdance Ensemble in the Washington area was active for 25 years. With its competence they achived much popularity. It represented the Hungarian folk dance and music at a very high level of artistry on many occasions. They sacrificed their own treasures to carry on the Tanchaz culture and movement while they also received professional assistance in Hungary in their efforts. Unfortunately, human physical feebleness such as tragic illness has eventually thinned their ranks. As far as I know, they never received the proper recognition by the Hungarian Nation. Now would be the time to recognize their outstanding contributions to the UNESCO-recognized Tanchaz Movement.

Yes, we confirm, the Magos Band of Hungary is great. They just had an outstanding performance at the "Tánc Ház" in Bethesda, Maryland (Washington DC.) It was great to listen to the "Cimbalom" as well, a first for a band over from the Carpathian basin. They borrowed the much improved Hungarian dulcimer in New Jersey as that is a larger piece of equipment, not suited for international air travel. We hope to see them again in all upcoming seasons. - Peter.

Mr. Magyar,
I wanted to tell you that we are deeply enthusiastic fans and supporters of the Tammies! Our lives were deeply changed when we first saw their show in 2004.
Since then, we have gone to their show annually, and collect past and present videos, programs, etc. So although we never saw you perform in person, we have been amazed by your performances by watching videos of past Tamburitzan performances! I hope we get to meet you someday. We would have LOVED to have gone to see so many favorite Tammies at the 75th anniversary celebration, but unfortunately we were unable to. Maybe some other day.
Have a great day!
