Kalman Magyar is an international lawyer with nearly 30 years of wide-ranging experience in courtrooms, boardrooms and classrooms throughout the United States and Canada. He is admitted to practice law in Florida, Ontario, New York, and New Jersey, and serves as the Legal Director of Core Legacy Inc.

Kalman is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School in 1998 (where he won the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for achieving the highest grade in the Food & Drug Law course) and Pittsburgh’s Duquesne University (cum laude) in 1995, which he attended on a music and dance performance scholarship. He was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Superior Court of New Jersey from 1998 to 1999, and engaged in private practice for two prominent New Jersey/New York-based law firms from 1999 to 2007, representing a diverse variety of companies, including Fortune 500 companies. He relocated to Toronto, Canada in 2007 when he became Assistant General Counsel for Iovate Health Sciences, creator of some of the most iconic supplement brands in the world, such as Hydroxycut and Muscle Tech.

Kalman re-entered private practice in 2011 when he founded his solo firm which would eventually become Magyar, Bogle & O’Hara LLP, with offices in Toronto, New York, and Naples (Florida). He was the firm’s Managing Partner, overseeing a boutique practice working on a wide range of legal issues for entities of all sizes – from public corporations, private companies, to individuals doing business in Canada, United States, and beyond. Focusing on complex transactions, intellectual property matters, crisis management and litigation strategy, his clients engaged in a host of industries, including sports, vitamins and supplements, health care, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceuticals, performing arts, natural health products, fitness, automotive, aviation, distribution, insurance, and manufacturing.

Kalman retired from private practice in March 2024, after which he co-founded Core Legacy Inc. with his wife, Beatrix Nagy. They have been married since 2001, have three children, and split their time between Naples (Florida) and Toronto (Ontario).
